CD-RW file recovery

Hi, can anyone here offer me an effective method for CD-RW file recovery? Any possible suggestion will be appreciated. Actually, I had made a backup for the hard drive files several months ago and burned them to a CD-RW because I knew how terrible it will be if I lose the important files someday. Then, I made the disc staying comfortably in a jewel case of mine. And as far as I’m concerned, it was kept in such a perfect condition.

When I lost some files on the hard drive the other day, I took out the CD-RW, hoping to get back the lost files through the backup. I carefully put the disc into one of the computer drives. Then, I was very glad to find that it can be recognized by system. I opened the backup folder on my CD-RW, but disappointedly found that all files in it were gone. I tried another CD/DVD drive once again and ended up with no luck. I’m just an ordinary user and don’t know much about this kind of stuff, but I really hope that someone can help me with CD-RW file recovery. Thanks a lot!
